Winnipeg police seize $70,000 worth of cocaine

Following a month’s long investigation, $70,000 worth of cocaine was seized by Winnipeg Police.

In August, the Gun’s & Gangs Unit began investigating a criminal network trafficking cocaine in Winnipeg and northern First Nations.

On Thursday, three men were arrested following a traffic stop at St Mary’s Road and Hull Avenue — and police seized approximately 834 individually wrapped grams of cocaine plus an additional 66 grams of packaged cocaine.

Police believe the drugs seized would have been flown to First Nations communities within different provinces.

Nearly $2,000, stolen identification, luggage and airline tickets were among the items seized.

Police say a 24-year-old from Winnipeg, a 26-year-old from Manitoba and a 27-year-old from B.C. are facing drug trafficking-related charges.
