Three young boys arrested in Winnipeg following alleged commercial break-in

Three male suspects have been charged following a commercial break-and-enter that took place in the early hours on Monday in the St. Vital neighbourhood.

At approximately 4:00 a.m., East District General Patrol officers spotted two boys fleeled a business in the 1500 block of St. Mary’s Road.

After a brief foot chase, both suspects were arrested without incident behind a nearby residence on Robertson Crescent.

The Major Crimes Unit later identified and arrested a third suspect at a residence on Mars Drive around 3:15 p.m. the same day.

Investigators determined that the suspects broke into the business by smashing a front window while one remained outside as a lookout.

Once inside, the individuals stole merchandise valued at approximately $12,000 and caused an estimated $8,500 in damage.

A 15-year-old and a 19-year-old, both from Winnipeg, have been charged with Break Enter and Theft – Place.

They were released on undertakings.

A 16-year-old boy, also from Winnipeg, faces the same charge and remains in custody.

Police continue to investigate.
