2 Winnipeggers in their early 20s dead in vehicle rollover on Highway 60

By News Staff

Police say a woman and man from Winnipeg, both in their 20s, were killed after being ejected from their vehicle during a rollover on Highway 60 on Sunday.

It happened around 4:45 p.m., about 30 kilometres east of Highway 10.

Mounties say the 21-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man were in the backseat of the vehicle at the time. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

The 25-year-old woman driving the vehicle and the 18-year-old man in the front passenger seat, both from Winnipeg, were taken to hospital with minor injuries. They were treated and released.

Investigators say the foursome were travelling from Winnipeg to The Pas when the vehicle is believed to have hit the shoulder and overcorrected. Police say the driver then lost control of the vehicle and it rolled.

The Pas RCMP and an RCMP forensic collision reconstructionist are investigating.
