Winnipeg police looking for witnesses after teen found in distress at Happyland Park

Winnipeg police are turning to the public for assistance regarding an incident at Happyland Park on Friday, Aug. 30.

WPS says it received multiple reports in the evening that a teen was in distress near the riverbank.

She was reportedly located and taken to hospital for assessment purposes.

Police say they have already spoken to several people that were present during the incident, however, they note that they would like to speak with a man and a woman who were in the area around 6:30 p.m., with a child and a dog.

It is believed that they might have seen something, which might help investigators determine what happened to the teen.

Additionally, anyone who was at Happyland Park between 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m., is asked to contact investigators with the Child Abuse Unit at 204-986-3296 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-8477.
