Winnipeg spray pads, outdoor pools to remain open for a few more days

The City of Winnipeg says spray pad season is coming to an end, but they can be enjoyed for a little longer.

The City is extending the spray pad season to Sept. 8, from its original date of Sept. 3.

“We know how much families love our spray pads, especially during those last warm days of summer,” said Vivian Santos, Chairperson of the Standing Policy Committee on Community Services.

“Extending the spray pad season until September 8 gives everyone a bit more time to cool off and enjoy these popular outdoor spaces. It’s all about making the most of our beautiful Winnipeg summers and ensuring our community has access to fun and refreshing options.”

Spray pads will remain open daily between 9:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m.

Outdoor pools

Meanwhile, the same can’t be said for outdoor pools.

Three outdoor pools will be open until the end of Friday, Aug. 30. Those three pools are as follows:

  • Fort Garry Lions
  • Provencher
  • Windsor Park

Additionally, weather permitting, five pools are expected to remain open until the end of Monday, Sep. 2. Those pools are as follows:

  • Freight House
  • Kildonan Park
  • St. Vital
  • Transcona Aquatic Park
  • Westdale
