Winnipeg police say a man and a woman have been charged in connection to the death of Jack Jacques Kabluitok earlier this year.
On May 12, WPS officers responded to a report of an injured man near Portage Avenue and Arlington Street around 2:20 a.m.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man — who was later identified as Kabluitok — and applied a chest seal.
Kabluitok was taken to a hospital in critical condition where he later died.

Through an investigation, police were able to learn that Kabluitok had been confronted by a man and a woman, at which point he was robbed. It is believed the confrontation then escalated and Kabluitok was stabbed.
On Aug. 20, investigators were able to identify a man and woman who are believed to have been involved in the fatal stabbing.
WPS has since charged 32-year-old Derrick James Grey with manslaughter and robbery, and have charged 21-year-old Roberta Jonah Sumner with possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000.
None of the allegations have been proven in court.
