Man, 28, struck on Pembina Highway dies of injuries in hospital: police

The 28-year-old man who was in hospital in critical condition after being struck on Pembina Highway on Saturday morning has died of his injuries, Winnipeg police say.

The Winnipeg Police Service says the man was walking across Pembina Highway near Adamar Road around 4 a.m. when he was struck by a vehicle going south.

The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and spoke with investigators, according to police.

The WPS traffic division is continuing its investigation.

The man was the third pedestrian struck by a vehicle in Winnipeg in a seven-hour span.

A 49-year-old woman died after being hit on the Harry Lazarenko Bridge Friday night. A 57-year-old man is still recovering in hospital after being hit while reportedly crossing Main Street against a red light early Saturday morning.
