Two train cars derailed in Winnipeg’s River Heights on Monday afternoon, temporarily disrupting traffic in the area.
Canadian Pacific Kansas City tells CityNews the derailment happened at 11 a.m.
“The rail cars remained upright,” a spokesperson said. “There were no injuries and dangerous goods involved.”
The derailed train was blocking east and westbound traffic at Grant Avenue and Taylor Avenue – at the level of Lindsay Street.
Winnipeg police called it a “minor train derailment.” They confirmed there was no spillage or hazardous material.
WPS and CP police were on the scene.
The two road crossings that were initially blocked were cleared by late afternoon.
