Man charged after pointing SKS Rifle at people on Sherbrook Street

Winnipeg police say one man has been charged after pointing a Semi-Automatic SKS Rifle at people along Sherbrook Street Tuesday morning.
WPS says the incident happened just before 6 a.m. after officers received several reports.
Officers were at the scene within minutes and found the man walking in the area.
He was taken into custody without incident, and police were able to seize the gun, along with what is believed to be methamphetamine.
Through an investigation, WPS learned that security at the Health Sciences Centre and an Institutional Safety Officer noticed the man with the gun and called police.
Around this time, the man noticed security and pointed the gun towards them, before fleeing on foot. Police note security did keep an eye on him until officers arrived.
It was noted that the gun was not fired and no injuries have been reported.
Police also say that during the arrest, the man refused to provide his name to officers, however he was identified via fingerprint scans and identified as 27-year-old Wayne Nathan Roullette.
Roullette has since been charged with five charges relating to possession of a firearm, and methamphetamine.
