3 charged after armed robbery in Selkirk: RCMP

Manitoba RCMP say two men have been charged in connection to an alleged armed robbery from a store in Selkirk, and a third has been charged for an outstanding warrant.

Mounties say around 4:30 p.m. on Friday, they received a report that two men entered a store along Manitoba Avenue in Selkirk, and filled two bags with merchandise.

They were then confronted by store employees, and threatened the employees with a knife, according to police. Both men then fled on foot where they joined a third man, RCMP add.

Officers responded to the incident and found one of the men — a 23-year-old from Winnipeg — walking in a nearby field. He was taken into custody, and Mounties allege they found two knives and a straight blade while searching him. He was charged with robbery with a weapon, three counts of uttering threats and possession of a weapon.

RCMP say a short time later, officers found a 32-year-old man from Yorkton, Sask., and a 39-year-old man from Winnipeg in separate locations.

The 32-year-old was taken into custody for an outstanding warrant, but was not charged in connection to the robbery in Selkirk.

The 39-year-old was charged with robbery.
