4 charged, 1 wanted following robbery in Munroe East

Winnipeg police have charged two 17-year-olds and two 18-year-olds in connection to a robbery on Sunday.

WPS says around 8:50 p.m. on June 16, officers responded to reports that a man was being assaulted by a group of teens along Besant Street near Munroe Avenue.

When officers arrived at the scene, they met with a 19-year-old man, who explained he was followed off a bus by five individuals.

He then told officers he was confronted with a knife, and the group allegedly assaulted him and stole his belongings.

Police say the man noted the group also filmed a video before fleeing the scene.

Between June 16 and 18, WPS were able to take four people — a 17-year-old girl, an 18-year-old man, and two 18-year-old women — into custody.

Since, all four have been charged with robbery. The 17-year-old girl was also charged with possession of a weapon, and one of the 18-year-old women was also charged with possession of a weapon and two counts of breach of recognizance.

Police say a warrant has been issued for a 17-year-old boy in connection to the incident.

Anyone who may have any information, is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-8477.
