Man in critical condition after being hit by train: WPS

Police say a 29-year-old man is in hospital in critical condition after being hit by a train Friday.

The Winnipeg Police Service says it happened at the tracks near Concordia Avenue East and Peguis Street shortly before 5 p.m.

The man was reportedly walking along the tracks when he was struck by a westbound freight train.

The WPS traffic division is investigating.
