Teen in hospital after home invasion: Winnipeg police

Winnipeg police say a 14-year-old is in hospital following a home invasion on Wednesday.

Around 11 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29, officers responded to a report of a home invasion near Aberdeen Avenue and Powers Street.

When officers arrived, they found a 14-year-old suffering from upper body injuries sustained from a weapon. He was taken to a hospital where he was upgraded to stable condition.

Through initial stages of the investigation, police learned that the teen and others were inside the home when the invasion occurred.

“A group of armed suspects entered the home, fired shots (nobody was struck), the youth was assaulted, and they fled,” said police in a statement.
