Pickup truck crashes into empty St. Boniface elementary school classroom; no injuries

Editor’s note: Winnipeg police previously incorrectly indicated the crash happened on Wednesday.

Police say a pickup truck crashed into a Winnipeg elementary school on Tuesday around 3 p.m., breaching a classroom in the process.

The Winnipeg Police Service says the Holy Cross Elementary School classroom — on Dubuc Street in St. Boniface — was empty at the time. There were no injuries to any students or staff.

The adult male driver, who remained on scene and met with police, was not injured either.

Winnipeg police say there is no suspicion of criminal intent, and the vehicle is undergoing an inspection.
