Boil water advisory lifted for Gimli

By CityNews Staff

A boil water advisory in Gimli, Manitoba — roughly 80 kilometers north of Winnipeg — has been lifted.

The RM placed the advisory after a power outage Saturday led to the failure of pumps at the Gimli Water Treatment Plant.

Residents were asked to bring all water used for consumption to a rolling boil for at least a minute prior to using it.

Around 2:15 p.m., the RM says testing shows they now meet regulatory standards, which has allowed them to remove the advisory.

“We thank our businesses and residents for their patience, cooperation and understanding during this event,” said the RM in a statement.
