3 people facing 26 charges in connection to shooting

Winnipeg police say three people are facing 26 charges in connection to a shooting on Apr. 15.

WPS says officers responded to a Winnipeg hospital after receiving a report that a 56-year-old man had been shot.

Through an investigation, officers learned that the man had gone to an address along William Avenue earlier in the night to see a friend.

The report indicates after knocking, the man was shot through the door, which resulted in a serious upper-body injury. He then reportedly fled the scene and went to a hospital.

After learning this, officers went to the address, where a man and woman were seen leaving and were taken into custody.

Police say a second man stayed inside for some time, before being taken into custody by police.

Officers then executed a search warrant, and seized a modified rifle and magazine with ammunition.

Since, 25-year-old Addison Jay Laroque has been charged with 14 charges including failing to comply with a release order and assault with a weapon.

Peyton Gott, 23, is facing seven charges including assault with a weapon.

Lastly, 20-year-old Summer Young is facing five charges including assault with a weapon.
