Police lay 2nd-degree murder charges after fatal Daniel McIntyre shooting

By News Staff

A Winnipeg man is facing second-degree murder charges in connection with a fatal shooting early Tuesday morning in the Daniel McIntyre neighbourhood.

Police say officers were in the area around 12:45 a.m. when they heard shots being fired.

A man with a gunshot wound was found near Furby Street and Cumberland Avenue. He was taken to hospital in critical condition, where he died. He was identified as 46-year-old Edison Leslie Erskine.

Homicide investigators say they identified a suspect later Tuesday. They believe the accused and victim were involved in an argument that escalated.

“The details of their relationship are still being investigated,” Winnipeg police said in a news release.

Winnipeg’s Jordan Tyler Trachilis, 32, was arrested and charged.

Police are asking anyone with information or video surveillance to call 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers.
