Residents of Winnipeg neighbourhood left homeless after early morning fire

Residents of a multi-family residence have been left homeless after an early morning fire Saturday.

The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to a fire at a two-storey residence at the 100 block of Hallet Street around just before 4 a.m.

Crews attempted to tackle the blaze from inside the house, but heavy fire conditions forced them to exit and fight the fire from outside.

Firefighters remained on scene throughout Saturday, working to fully extinguish the fire.

No injuries were reported.

The City’s Emergency Social Services team is helping residents find temporary accommodations.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
