Police recover WRHA’s stolen Street Connections van

By News Staff

The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority says its stolen Street Connections van has been found by police.

“We would like to thank the public and RCMP for their assistance in helping find the vehicle,” the WRHA wrote in a news release.

The WRHA reported Monday evening that the van, used for an evening outreach program, was stolen over the weekend. The health authority secured a rental vehicle in response.

It now says the rental vehicle will continue being used “for the time being.”

The Street Connections program sees public health nurses and outreach workers drive around Winnipeg six evening each week. They work to reduce the spread of sexually transmitted infections and reduce other drug-related harms.
