1 dead after fire destroys home on remote First Nation in Manitoba: police

One person is dead after a fire tore through a home in a remote First Nation in northwestern Manitoba.
Mounties say they received a report of a house fire in Barren Lands First Nation on Monday.
A fire truck responded to the call, but the house was fully engulfed in flames.
Police say several people were inside the home at the time of the fire and all but one adult was able to escape safely.
RCMP officers went to the community the following day and located a deceased person inside the home.
The office of the fire commissioner, the chief medical examiner and police continue to investigate.
