Death of 24-year-old man found injured on Elmwood sidewalk

Homicide police are investigating the death of a man who was found seriously injured on a sidewalk in Elmwood Saturday night.

The Winnipeg Police Service says it received a report around 11:20 p.m. of an injured man on Keenleyside Street near Kent Road.

Officers arrived to find the man with serious injuries. Police say he was taken to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The victim has been identified as 24-year-old Joseph Robert Campbell of Winnipeg.

The WPS homicide unit is investigating.

It would be the 27th homicide of the year in Winnipeg.
