Group wearing face masks robs teenager at gun, knifepoint: WPS

Winnipeg police say a teenager has been charged for allegedly robbing another teen who was waiting at a bus stop on Monday.

WPS says around 7 p.m., officers responded to a report that a teen had been robbed of all their belongings while they were waiting for a bus at Fort Street and Graham Avenue.

The victim told police that he was confronted by a group of unknown individuals wearing face masks. The group reportedly pulled out guns and knives and threatened to kill the victim, before robbing him and fleeing the scene.

A short time later, WPS received a second call, describing a nearly similar incident. Officers quickly responded to that location, and say a foot chase happened.

During the chase, one of the individuals in the group allegedly tossed their gun. Police were able to take them into custody, noting other suspects continued to flee.

Police were able to later confirm the gun was a BB gun.

WPS have charged a 17-year-old with armed robbery, pointing a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, disguise with intent, and uttering threats.
