Two teens charged with armed robbery

Winnipeg police say two teens have been charged following an armed robbery on Wednesday.

WPS say around 9 p.m., officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at Union Station at 123 Main Street.

Police say a man in his 20s was sitting outside the station when he was confronted by two teens who demanded a cigarette.

The man allegedly refused to hand over more cigarettes, which is when he was robbed and assaulted at gunpoint.

The suspects grabbed cigarettes and cash from the man, before fleeing on foot.

WPS say they were able to locate the teens at a recreational area of the Forks Market, and both were taken into custody.

A 16-year-old boy has since been charged with armed robbery, carrying a concealed weapon and failing to comply with a release order.

A 14-year-old girl was also charged with armed robbery.
