2 children injured by shattered glass after vehicle struck by bullet: WPS

By News Staff

Police say a bullet struck a vehicle in Winnipeg’s West End Sunday night, injuring three people, including two children.

The Winnipeg Police Service says the vehicle driver, a 10-year-old and a 12-year-old were all injured after the vehicle’s window glass shattered.

The children were hospitalized for minor injuries and released.

Officers were called to Maryland Street and Sargent Avenue around 10 p.m. after the vehicle was reportedly struck by a bullet while driving.

Investigators with the major crimes unit do not believe the shots were intended for the victim’s vehicle. They suggest it may have been part of a drug conflict.
