Three charged in cocaine bust in RM of Mountain

RCMP in Manitoba have charged three men in connection to a drug investigation in the northern part of the province.

Officers of the RCMP West District Crime Reduction Enforcement Support Team (CREST), along with Swan River RCMP, executed a search warrant at a home in the Rural Municipality (RM) of Mountain — over 400 km Northwest of Winnipeg — on July 21.

During the search, Mounties were able to seize over 1 kilogram of cocaine, along with drug paraphernalia and a gun.

Mounties say that three men were taken into custody at the scene.

A 43-year-old man from the RM of Mountain has since been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and failing to comply.

A 25-year-old man from Swan River — roughly 500 km Northwest of Winnipeg — was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking. Mounties noted he had two outstanding warrants for assault and assault with a weapon.

A 41-year-old man from Pine Creek First Nation — roughly 430 km Northwest of Winnipeg — is facing possession for the purpose of trafficking charges. RCMP say he was released and is expected to appear in court.
