2 Winnipeggers charged in connection to drug trafficking investigation

Winnipeg police have charged two people in connection to a drug trafficking investigation.

WPS says on July 11, officers executed a search warrant at a home along Hargrave Street regarding an individual who was wanted for being unlawfully at large and believed to be drug trafficking.

Police say during the search, two adults were taken into custody, and they were able to seize the following items:

  • 87 grams of cocaine – worth roughly $800;
  • Roughly $20,000 in Canadian currency;
  • Digital scales and packaging materials;
  • Loose ammunition;
  • Bear spray;
  • Fraudulent name identification.

 

As a result, a 31-year-old man from Winnipeg has been charged with various drug and weapon-related charges. He remains in police custody.

A 21-year-old woman from Winnipeg was also charged with possession of cocaine with the purpose of trafficking and proceeds obtained from a crime. She was released by police on an undertaking.
