Police question man who allegedly watched children outside St. Vital school

By News Staff

Winnipeg police questioned and later released a man – without laying charges – after he was allegedly watching children outside a school in St. Vital last week.

Police say they received a report of a man observing kids during their lunch hour at Victor H.L. Wyatt School on Thursday.

Officers say they were then contacted the next day around noon after the same man allegedly returned to the school. The man was arrested.

Investigators with the child abuse unit interviewed him, then released him with no charges – pending further investigation.

The WPS says it is not related to incidents reported in the River East Transcona and Louis Riel school divisions on Thursday.
