Ryan Reynolds crashes journalism class at Toronto college

A group of journalism students at a Toronto college were in for a welcome surprise this week when an A-list Canadian actor interrupted one of their classes.
Ryan Reynolds was getting a tour of Seneca College on Wednesday when he dropped in on a broadcast journalism course unannounced. The appearance came while students were in the middle of a class broadcast.
The 46-year-old Deadpool actor did more than just pop in for a visit, he actually contributed to the newscast.
In video posted to social media, the Vancouver native can be seen reading a news story about Dr. Phil ending his daytime television program, while a starstruck student looks on.

“Are you with me here?,” asks Reynolds to the female student, before the pair continue reading from a prompter.
“Probably need to get that prompter moving a little faster next time,” the actor joked. “That’s my fault, not yours.”
Several students can be heard clapping and shouting as Reynolds finished reading the story.
“I hope I didn’t ruin your entire broadcast,” he said. “Are we live right now?”
Reynolds also posted a picture of himself in front of a Seneca logo with the comments being flooded with students who expressed disappointment they missed out on seeing the actor.

Reynolds made Canadian headlines in the fall when rumours swirled of his potential interest in buying the NHL’s Ottawa Senators.
In 2020, he and fellow actor Rob McElhenney purchased the Welsh football club Wrexham AFC, which competes in the fifth tier of the English Football system.
The A-lister is expected to make an appearance at the Canadian Screen Awards in Toronto in April.
