Winnipeg man, 67, charged with internet luring of minor

A 67-year-old Winnipeg man was arrested after police allege he attempted to lure a child for sexual purposes online.

The Winnipeg Police Service says Lawrence Draho used online classified sites and messaging apps to lure a person under the age of 16.

He was charged Jan. 16 with luring a person under 16 years of age by means of telecommunication, distributing or selling sexually explicit material to a person under 16 years, and more.

The investigation was led by the WPS’ counter exploitation unit.

Police are reminding Winnipeggers to report incidents of online sexual exploitation.
