Winnipeg robbery suspect facing additional charges

A Winnipeg man facing charges for robbery is now facing additional charges according to Winnipeg police.

WPS say 18-year-old Jayden Israel Kennedy, who was arrested and charged on Tuesday has been linked to an alleged sexual assault that happened late last week.

According to police, the alleged incident occurred at the Chancellor/Pembina Rapid Transitway on Nov. 5, when a woman in her 20s was confronted by a man with a knife.

The woman was allegedly attacked and sexually assaulted before a bus arrived at the station and scared off the suspect.

The suspect was later identified by police as Kennedy.

Kennedy has been charged with sexual assault with a weapon, aggravated assault, robbery, uttering threats and possession of a weapon on top of previous charges laid by WPS.
