Shotgun, drugs, stolen documents seized in search of North End home: WPS

Winnipeg police say they seized a weapon, drugs and stolen items from a home in the city’s North End on Monday.

Two arrests were made: a 34-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman.

Police say the search of the home on Redwood Avenue near Aikins Street was conducted by the guns and gangs unit as part of a drug investigation.

WPS says it seized a sawed-off shotgun, 21 grams of methamphetamine (estimated street value of $1000) and three grams of fentanyl (estimated street value of $600).

Police also allegedly seized stolen identity documents and cheques that were previously reported stolen.

The 34-year-old suspect is facing 21 charges, including possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition

He was detained in custody.

The 19-year-old woman is facing 12 charges. She was released on an Undertaking, per the Criminal Code.
