Unregistered massage therapist accused of sexual assault near Steinbach

RCMP are investigating an alleged sexual assault involving a man who was believed to be a registered massage therapist, but was not.

Steinbach RCMP say a woman was allegedly sexually assaulted on Friday during a massage in Blumenort, Man., about 10 kilometres north of Steinbach.

Police say the victim believed the 51-year-old man was a registered massage therapist.

The victim told police she was touched in an unwanted sexual way during an appointment.

The suspect was providing services out of a basement in Blumenort, police say.

The suspect was charged with sexual assault. He was remanded in custody.

RCMP are looking for more potential victims.
