It’s been a busy 15 hours for Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Services as fire crews had to battle five residential fires.
WFPS say the first fire occurred just before 6 p.m. at a single-level home on Alfred Avenue.
Within ten minutes of arriving at the home, the fire was extinguished.
A couple hours later, WFPS was called to a two-and-a-half-storey home on Pritchard Avenue.
Arriving at the scene, fire and smoke could be seen coming from the house.
By 8:39 p.m., just under 20 minutes after arriving to the house, firefighters had the blaze under control.
Just before 5:30 a.m. Monday, WFPS was called to a four-story apartment building on Qu’Appelle Avenue.
Roughly half an hour after arriving at the scene, firefighters had put out the fire.
WFPS said everyone had left the apartment complex safely and no injuries were reported. Officials add an emergency social services team attended the apartment complex to help the displaced residents until it is ruled safe for them to return.
Just after 5:30 a.m., a different crew responded to a fire at a vacant house on Pritchard Avenue.
WFPS reported large flames coming from the home and firefighters were forced to start battling the blaze from outside the house.
Residents in neighbouring homes were evacuated out of precaution, and firefighters were able to put out the fire in about an hour.
Just before 8 a.m., Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Services responded to a fire at a two-story townhouse on Gordon Avenue.
Within half an hour the fire was under control.
WFPS adds an emergency social services team also attended this scene to help those impacted to find residents until it is ruled safe to return to their home.
Out of all five fires, no injuries were reported.
