Two men stole vehicle from business, drove it into parked cars in southeast Winnipeg: police

Police say two suspects stole a vehicle from a southeast Winnipeg business and drove it into several parked cars early Friday morning.
Winnipeg police say the men – both 20 years old – stole the vehicle from a business near Pembina Highway and Chancellor Matheson Road.
Around 2:30 a.m. Friday, the suspects were allegedly seen driving that vehicle “erratically” while colliding with parked cars in southeast Winnipeg.
Patrol officers found the running vehicle abandoned at the intersection of De La Seigneurie Boulevard and Bishop Grandin Boulevard.
Police believe the suspects fled in a taxi.
Roughly 30 minutes later, officers found the taxi – with the suspects still inside – returning to that intersection.
Officers say they executed a traffic stop, seized from the suspects the keys to the stolen vehicle and a canister of bear spray repellent.
The suspects are facing various charges, such as possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and failure to comply with a probation order.
One of the suspects was charged with possession of a weapon.
The major crimes unit is investigating.
