Pedestrian killed after being struck by car on Portage Avenue

A woman is dead after being hit by a car at Portage Avenue and Vaughan Street Sunday night, police say.
WPS say the incident happened not long after 10 p.m.
The woman was reportedly struck as she was stepping onto the road.
Police say she was taken to hospital in critical condition, where she later died.
The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene to speak with police following the incident.
