Death of 74-year-old man in Winnipeg’s West End treated as homicide: police

Winnipeg police are investigating the “suspicious” death of a 74-year-old man in the city’s West End.

Police say they discovered the body of Winnipeg’s James Monaghan on Friday around 4:30 p.m. at a home on Sherburn Street near Ellice Avenue after receiving a report of a body.

Police say the man’s death is considered suspicious and is being treated as a homicide.

No suspects have been arrested.

The force’s homicide unit is leading the investigation.
