Winnipeg Jets hire Scott Arniel as associate coach

Former Winnipeg Jets player Scott Arniel has been hired as associate coach by the Jets.
He will work under new coach Rick Bowness.
Arniel served as an assistant with the Washington Capitals this year.
The 59-year-old from Kingston, Ont., was drafted by the Jets in the second round in 1981 NHL Draft. He played five seasons with Winnipeg before returning for the 1990-91 season.
He retired in 1999 and turned to coaching.
He was an assistant coach with the Buffalo Sabres, and then head coach of the Manitoba Moose in the AHL. He then served as head coach of the Columbus Blue Jackets.
He returned to the AHL as head coach of the Chicago Wolves in 2012-13 before serving as associate coach of the New York Rangers for five seasons.
