Cyclist in critical condition after being struck by garbage truck, which drove away: WPS

A man in his 30s is in hospital in critical condition after being struck by a garbage truck early Wednesday morning.

Winnipeg police say the man was riding his bike when he was struck by the garbage truck at the intersection of Erin Street and Sargent Avenue around 5 a.m.

Investigators determined the garbage truck drove away after the collision.

The cyclist was transported to hospital.

Police are searching for the truck driver.
