Homicide investigation: Winnipeg man found injured on North End bridge died in hospital

A 31-year-old Winnipeg man died in hospital after police officers say they found him injured on Slaw Rebchuk Bridge in the city’s North End on Friday night.

Police are investigating his death as a homicide.

WPS says a patrol until was travelling on the Slaw Rebchuk Bridge around 10:30 p.m. Friday when they spotted the injured man near a sidewalk.

They provided emergency care on the spot, before the man was taken to hospital in critical condition.

Police say the victim died shortly after arriving in hospital.

Winnipeg police’s major crimes unit is investigating.
