Not an April Fool’s Day joke, store clerk assaulted with a chocolate bunny

A suspect involved in a robbery of a Brandon store, chose a unique weapon while making their escape.
Around 4:00 on Wednesday a store clerk approached a 27-year-old male suspect when the clerk was struck with a ‘Mr. Solid’ chocolate bunny.
The suspect fled, but police located him nearby.
Stolen goods were recovered, and the suspect is facing charges of assault and theft under $5000.
In a release, Brandon Police clarified that this was not an April Fool’s joke, and that while the weapon may be atypical, they did not want to downplay the challenges retail employees face when dealing with theft.
