Young child dies after being hit by vehicle

WINNIPEG (CityNews) – A four-year-old child has died in hospital after being hit a vehicle on Tuesday.

Police say the pedestrian and an adult woman were struck at around 12 p.m. in the area of Isabel Street and Alexander Avenue.

The pair were rushed to hospital in critical condition, but the child has since died.

Police believe there may have been several witnesses to the incident and are asking anyone with information to call them.

Investigators say all motorists — including bus drivers, garbage truck drivers and truck drivers — should check to see if they have any dashcam footage of the incident.
