Charges after improvised pipe gun seizure

WINNIPEG (CITYNEWS) – Winnipeg Police have laid charges against a 27-year-old after a firearms seizure Friday.
Police say around 9:20 p.m. Friday they were called to Selkirk Avenue near Salter Street for reports of a man with a firearm walking around and making threats.
More calls came in shortly thereafter reporting that the man had gone to a nearby youth resource centre asking to use a phone.
Officers took the suspect into custody and after searching him found an improvised pipe gun loaded with a 12 gauge shotgun shell.
Three other 12-gauge shotgun shells were also seized.
Cody Henry Bousquet, 27, has been charged with transport firearm or restricted weapon contrary to regulations; possession of a weapon; carrying a concealed weapon, prohibited device, or ammunition; possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized; and possession of a loaded, prohibited, or restricted firearm.
