Winnipeg police arrest 4 people in drug trafficking raid

Winnipeg police (WPS) arrested four people and seized cocaine and weapons in a drug investigation on Thursday.

Police say the arrests came while executing a search warrant at a house located in the block 600 block of Magnus Avenue.

The operation came after receiving reports from citizens suspecting illicit drug activity, WPS said in a press release.

Officers seized pellet guns, cocaine worth more than $14,000, and an allegedly stolen electric bike.

Police arrested two individuals inside the house and two others just outside. All were subsequently arrested without incident.

A 50-year-old man faces three counts of weapon possession charges and a charge of carrying concealed weapon. A 48-year-old man is facing a charge of possession of a weapon. A 46-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman face charges of possessing cocaine for trafficking and robbery charges.

All four were released in undertakings.

The allegations have yet to be tested in court.
