Winnipeg school getting $100K from province for new playground project

Students at a kindergarten to Grade 8 school in Winnipeg will be getting a new playground following a $100,000 investment from the Manitoba government.
The playground is coming to Lavallee School, part of the Louis Riel School Division.
The funding is part of the province’s Healthy Kids, Healthy Communities Play Structure Fund, which was created to reduce financial pressure on school divisions. The fund is supporting 43 playground projects across Manitoba.
Those projects were chosen among 83 funding request from 30 school divisions.
“We know how important spaces like this are for children, and every child deserves a safe and accessible place to play,” said Business, Mining, Trade and Job Creation Minister Jamie Moses.
