Man pulls out gun during road rage incident, Winnipeg police say

Winnipeg police say a man was arrested after allegedly pulling a gun out during a road rage incident on Monday morning.
The Winnipeg Police Service says it happened just before 6 a.m. around St. James Street and Ness Avenue.
Officers believe the incident began when a man pulled his vehicle next to another, complaining about the 53-year-old victim’s manner of driving. Police say the verbal argument escalated when the suspect brandished a handgun.
“The victim fled in his vehicle, but the suspect followed him a short distance and forced the victim to stop his vehicle by pulling in front of him,” WPS said in a news release. “The suspect got out of his vehicle while still brandishing the black handgun before getting back into his vehicle and fleeing the area when he saw the victim contacting police.”
The victim was not injured.
Police arrested the suspect at a home on Beachham Crescent around 7:30 p.m.
A 29-year-old is facing a charge of assault with a weapon.
