A medical response bag containing medications that may be dangerous was stolen from an emergency scene on Tuesday, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service is warning.
The WFPS says taking any amount of medication in the kit without medical supervision can be dangerous or fatal. It specifies none of the medications in the kit contain narcotics.
“Most of the medications in the kit are used to provide symptomatic relief, and some are used during patient resuscitation efforts. Most are administered by intravenous and are packaged in vials. They should not be taken orally,” the WFPS said in a news release.
The WFPS says it is investigating and it has reported the theft to Winnipeg police.
