Man charged after allegedly showing gun to people in Winnipeg lounge

Winnipeg police say a 26-year-old man has been charged after allegedly showing a gun to people inside a lounge over the weekend.

WPS says around 12:30 a.m. on March 15, officers responded to reports that a man had a gun in a lounge along Osborne Street near Broadway.

When officers arrived at the scene, they were quickly able to locate the man and took him into custody, and seized a loaded handgun.

Through an investigation, police believe that the man had entered the establishment and proceeded to show a gun to several people, before security was informed.

WPS says 26-year-old Samtra Samtra has been charged with eight firearm-related offences.
