2 men charged in connection to death on Selkirk Avenue

Winnipeg police say two people have been charged in connection with the death of 40-year-old Kingsley Murray Bruce.

Around 3 p.m. on March 3, officers responded to a gun call at an apartment building along Selkirk Avenue.

When officers arrived at the apartments, they say that Bruce, a member of Poplar River First Nation who was living in Winnipeg, was found injured and was taken to hospital in critical condition, where he later died from his injuries.

Through an investigation, police were able to identify two men who were believed to be involved in Bruce’s death.

On Mar. 9, 25-year-old Emmanuel Max Spence was taken into custody, and he was charged with manslaughter. Two days later, police took 39-year-old Thomas Jeremey (TJ) Spence into custody, and he was charged with manslaughter.

All three men are believed to have known each other prior to the shooting.
