2 charged with allegedly trafficking drugs in the Spence neighbourhood

Winnipeg police say two people have been charged with allegedly trafficking drugs in the Spence neighbourhood.

WPS says they began an investigation into suspected drug trafficking in January, which led them to execute a search warrant at an apartment suite along Maryland Street.

During the search, officers found and seized around 500 rounds of ammunition and drug paraphernalia, and took a man and woman into custody.

Since, 28-year-old Phoenix Beverly Paige and 39-year-old Jeremey Robert Leech have been charged with possession of a firearm, restricted/prohibited weapon, firearm part, or ammunition contrary to probation, as well as careless storage of a firearm, ammunition, prohibited weapon, or device.

Leech has also been charged with failing to comply with the conditions of a release order.
