Winnipeg police arrest teenager after armed assault

Winnipeg police (WPS) arrested an 18-year-old man in connection with an armed assault.
The suspected allegedly entered the building on Portage Avenue with a knife and assaulted a man.
The victim managed to disarm the suspect and several bystanders stepped in to help until police arrived.
The victim sustained minor injuries and was treated by paramedics.
According to police, the suspect did not cooperate during the arrest and allegedly remained violent.
Officers used a taser to safely take the suspect into custody.
The teenager is now facing weapon possession and assault with a weapon charges. He was released on an undertaking.
